Haney, Susan Tanya (Blanchard)
Jun 22, 1959 - Oct 27, 1994

Pensacola News Journal, Sat., Oct. 29, 1994 - Susan Tanya Haney, 35, of Gulf Breeze died Thursday, Oct. 27, 1994.

The mortal suffering for Tanya ended early Thursday afternoon with those who loved her most at her side. Although many people tried to help Tanya through the last five years and two months, it was Tanya and her indomitable spirit that ended up helping us. Prior to her illness, Tanya was a dean's list college student; held a black belt in Karate; was an advanced scuba diver with dives logged all over the world; and was a beginning skydiver.

Tanya was an accomplished pianist and cake decorator. She volunteered her time and cakes to the Gulf Breeze Elementary School and the Gulf Breeze Sports Association.

Every second of Tanya's life had purpose, but these things were nothing compared to her greatest accomplishment of all: her three sons, Tanner, Tyler and Chandler. They were the center of her universe and she the center of theirs. All along the way she found time for David, her husband, who worshipped her. The void created by this tragedy is immeasurable.

Our young wife and mother is also survived by her father and mother, Clifford J. and Dottie Blanchard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clif and Wendy Blanchard and Dick and Mary Blanchard, all of Pensacola; her grandmother, Marian Joseph of Milton; uncles and aunts, Buck and Pat Wiseman, Bob and Nettie Joseph, Ralph and Jo Blanchard, all of Pensacola, and Joe and Cilda Joseph of Milton; nieces, Breanne and Summer; and nephew, Paul; and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Bill Howe for his efforts to help Tanya; also to Dr. Allan Fuller, his staff and the staff of Ellison 16, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston; and to Dr. Mark Wrighton, Provost of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze with Monsignor Luke Hunt as celebrant.

Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Clifford Blanchard, Clif Blanchard, Dick Blanchard, Buck Wiseman, Bob Joseph and Joe Joseph.

Martin's Forest Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, donations on behalf of Tanya should be made to the Harvard Medical School, Department of Gynecology/Oncology, 124 Mt. Auburn St., Cambridge, MA 02138.

Hernandez, Celestine (Bonifay)
Abt 1835 - Nov 10, 1857

Pensacola Gazette, Sat., Nov. 14, 1857 - DIED: in this city on Tuesday night last, from a painful and lingering illness, Mrs. Celestine, consort of Manuel H. Hernandez, aged 23 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Fond and loving husband, grieve no more,
She whom thou hast loved so long, so well,
Has only to her father's mansion repaired,
Where thou shalt join her when life is o'er.

Thou bereaved father, mourne not they child,
Christ, in his blessed arms has raised her,
From blasting earth, to a happier sphere.
Where with angels she is blessed forever.

Brothers, sisters, friends, relations all,
Whom in life she so dearly, fondly loved,
Be forever, comforted, for she is happier far,
Than if on earth she had always roved.

Yes Celestine is happier than tongue can tell,
On her breast her Savior's cross she wears,
In her hand a heavenly light she holds,
On her head a brilliant crown she wears.

With angels, hear her shout His praise.
Who for her, his life a ransom gave,
Hear her say, whilst on His bosom leaning,
"Where, where is they victory, oh grave."
