George W. Pape, 82, of 1411 E. Lloyd St., died Saturday morning at a local hospital.
He was a native of New Orleans, La., but had resided in Pensacola for the past
65 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a Fourth Degree Knight
of Columbus and past Deputy District Warden and State Warden of the Knights
of Columbus. He was a retired civil service employee of the Naval Air Station,
a member of the Modern Woodmen and the International Association of Machinists.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Modeste Rosique Pape; two daughters, , Mr.
Malcolm (Cecile)Smith and Mrs. Tase (Julia) Bailey; three sons, John Pape, Clarence
Pape and George Pape; one brother, H. J. Pape of Pensacola; nine grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren.
The Rosary will be said Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Waters & Hibbert Funeral
Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be Monday at 9:45 a.m. in the chapel. Mass will be celebrated
at Sacred Heart Church at 10 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Father Richard Boles.
Burial will be in the Holy Cross Mausoleum.
Honorary pallbearers will be A. Suaer, James Kehoe, Chester Wasburn, Horace
Rosique, Gilbert Freundschuh and Frank Fricker.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons, M. Edwin smith, William R. Smith, Clarence

John E. Pape, 79, of Pensacola died Tuesday, June 1, 1993, in a local hospital.
Mr. Pape was a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola. He retired from the
Naval Air Station as a machinist Instructor, and was a member of NARFE, Civil
Airs and Pensacola Golden Agers sponsored by the Diocese of Pensacola- Tallahassee.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Merritt Pape of Pensacola; daughter and son-in-law,
Joanne Pape and Theodore Kast of Pensacola; stepdaughter, Julie Merritt Burke
of Port Charlotte; stepson, Paul B. Merritt of Morgan Hill, Calif.; brothers
Clarence M. Pape Sr. of Gulf Breeze and George W. Pape of Pace; a sister, Julia
Pape Bailey of Gulf Breeze; three grandchildren, Taryne Kast Parker of Pace
and John E. Kast and Darryl S. Kast both of Pensacola; and four great grandchildren,
Olivia and James Parker of Pace and Amanda and Timothy Kast of Pensacola.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart
with Father Thomas A. Bonanti and Father James Gallagher celebrating Mass.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be John E. Kast, Terry M. Pape, Everett Parker, Keigth Pape,
Clarence Pape, Jr. and Stephen Hemmer.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Rosary

Charles F. Parazine, 77, dairyman of Ferry Pass, died Sunday morning at the
Sacred Heart Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Escambia County, and a
member of the Olive Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. A. D. Beagles of Biloxi, Miss.; a son, Charles
H. Parazine of Ferry Pass; three sisters, Mrs. W. H. Clark, Miss Laura Parazine,
and Miss Margaret Parazine; three brothers, C. W., C. E. and W. L. Parazine,
all of Ferry Pass, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Fisher-Pou Chapel, with
the Rev. Joe W. Hough and the Rev. Ralph Hendricks officiating. Burial will
be in Whitmire Cemetery.

She was a native of Battle Creek, Mich., but had resided in Pensacola for 80
years and was a member of Ferry Pass Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles Emery of Pensacola; a son, Harry
Parazine of Pensacola; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Waters & Hibbert Chapel with the
Rev. Donald E. Collins officiating.
Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery at Gull Point.

Geo. Parazine Passes Away at Advanced Age. Resident of Ferry Pass For The Past
Fifteen Years, Dies and Body Will Be Buried Today.
George Parazine, a well known resident of Ferry Pass, died yesterday morning
at his home at that place, death coming after a lingering illness. He had reached
the age of 62 years and is survived by five sons and three daughters. The deceased
had been a resident of Ferry Pass for forty-five years and was well liked by
those with whom he was acquainted. The funeral services will be conducted this
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Whitmire's cemetery.

Well Known Truck Farmer Died in this City Yesterday -- Funeral This Morning
and Interment at Ferry Pass.
Mrs. Gemima Parazine, wife of a well known truck farmer of this city, passed
away early yesterday morning at the residence of her son, 824 E. Gregory street.
Funeral services will be conducted this morning at 9 o'clock from the late residence
of the deceased, Rev. R. J. Haskew officiating. Interment will be made in the
cemetery at Ferry Pass.
The deceased was fifty-nine years of age, and besides a husband, five sons and
three daughters survive her.

nursing home.
Miss Parazine was a native and life-long resident of Pensacola. She was a member
of the Ferry Pass United Methodist Church and the Golden Agers.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Fisher-Pou Funeral Service
chapel with the Rev. Karl D. Stringfellow officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral
home chapel.
Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Gull Point, Fla., with Fisher-Pou Funeral

Benjamin Carl Parks, 47, of 4660 N. 9th Ave., died at his home Saturday night
after a long illness.
He was a Native of Goldsboro, N. C., but had resided in Pensacola the last 22
years.
He was a retired employee of the Pensacola Post Office and a World War II veteran.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by his widow Marie B. Parks, a daughter, Miss Carolyn A. Parks,
both of Pensacola; and three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Mae Daly, Mrs. Exie Smith and
Mrs. Hilda Strickland, all of Goldsboro, N. C.
The Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Waters & Hibbert.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Waters & Hibbert, with Mass
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 9:15 a.m.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Miss Katherine Pasco, 79, of 1008 N. Reus St., Pensacola, died early Wednesday
in a local hospital.
Miss Pasco was a native of Pensacola and a lifelong resident and she was the
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Sam Pasco. She was a teacher with Pensacola High School
and with Pensacola Junior College. she attended Agnes Scott College & the Whorton
School of Business. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Miss Pasco is survived by her brother Mr. William D. Pasco of Hendersonville,
NC; one niece and two nephews.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church
with Dr. Richard Harbison officiating.
For those who wish memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Nellie Pasco Is Dead at 88
Mrs. Nellie Mallory Pasco, 88, 1008 N. Reus St. died Monday morning at her home.
She was the widow of the late Sam Pasco Sr., was a lifelong resident of Pensacola
and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was the granddaughter of
the late Stephen Russell Mallory, Secretary of the Navy of the Confederate States
of America, and Angela Moreno Mallory, oldest daughter of Don Francisco Moreno.
Survivors include a daughter, Miss Katharine Pasco of Pensacola; a son, William
D. Pasco, of Pensacola; three sisters, Miss Cora Mallory and Mrs. William Fisher,
both of Pensacola and Miss Ida Mallory of West Palm Beach, seven grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church with
the Rev. Herbert Miller officiating.
The body will be placed in the church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery with Fisher-Pou Funeral Service directing.

Ian M. Phillips, 93, of Pensacola died Wednesday, November 29, 1995, in a local
nursing home.
Mr. Phillips was a letter carrier for 29 years with the US Postal Service here
in Pensacola and served as the Chaplain of the National Association of Letter
Carriers for 20 years (N.A.L.C.). He was also the Chaplain for University Hospital
for 16 years and for the Pensacola Fire Department downtown for over 40 years.
Mr. Phillips was also a retired Corps Sergeant Major in the Salvation Army with
32 years of active service, acting as Chaplain since 1942. He was a member of
the Salvation Army Citadel Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Gertrude Williamson of Birmingham, Ala., Florence
Brasse of Caldwell Idaho, and Ella Lock of Long Beach, Miss.; two sons, I. M.
Phillips, Jr. of Culpepper, Va., and Robert L. Phillips of Pensacola; two sisters,
Lauren Meachem and Leeta Taylor, both of Pensacola; 16 grandchildren and several
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the Salvation Army Corps
with Col. Eugene Slusher, pastor of the Corps, officiating.
Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Pensacola Fire Department.
Pallbearers will be Salvation Army soldiers.

Mrs. Pickering was a native of Edenburgh, Scotland, but had resided in Pensacola
for 25 (?) years before moving to San Diego two years ago.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gull Point.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. A. C. Joseph of Gull Point; a son S. B. Pickering,
Gull Point, 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren ( + unreadable sister
and brother).
The body will be sent to Pensacola for services and burial at a time to be announced
by Fisher Pou Funeral Service.

Trail, died Wednesday night in a local hospital.
Mr. Pickering was a native of Peabody, Mass., and had been a resident of Pensacola
for the past 50 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gull Point
and was a member of the Odd Fellows.
He was a switch foreman with the L&N Railroad and was a member of the United
Transportation Union.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Vada Pickering of Pensacola; three daughters,
Mrs. John McGrath of Buffalo, Mo., Mrs. Joseph Weedo of Pensacola and Mrs. Sanford
Barnes of Tampa,; two sons, Stephen B. Pickering, Jr. and Donald R. Pickering,
both of Pensacola; one sister, Mrs. Alice Joseph of Pensacola; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church
in Gull Point with the Rev. Buel Lewallen officiating.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. from Fisher Pou Chapel.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock from the home of
his mother 433 East Main street. Rev. V. L. Clark, pastor of Assembly of God,
assisted by Rev. W. L. Pate; pastor of the Church of God, will conduct services.
Pallbearers: Charlie Croberger, Jesse Burnham, Tom Edmundson, Jack Wilkins,
B. W. Hollingsworth and J. B. Ward.

Mrs. Ida V. Powell, 98, of 2203 North 15th Ave., died early Monday morning in
a local hospital.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., she had resided in Pensacola the past 75 years.
She was a retired civil service employe at NAS, a member of the Christ Episcopal
Church and a member of Pensacola Chapter No. 86 NARCE.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Mrs. Virginia Tinsley of Pensacola and
Mrs. Shirley Phares of Maine; a grandson, Eddie Powell of Seattle, Wash., three
great-grandsons, William L. Bisdorf of Pensacola , Daniel Edward Bisdorf of
the US Army in Germany and David Charles Davis of the US Army in Vietnam; and
five other great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be by McNeil-Keyes Funeral Home.

Preston, died Wednesday night at a local hospital.
She was the daughter of Julius E. Daniels and Clara Rocheblave Daniels of Pensacola.
Mrs. Preston was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Other survivors include one daughter, Judith Preston, of Pensacola; two sons,
Ens. Patrick Preston of Pensacola and Robert Preston of University of Florida;
two sisters, Mrs. Constance D. Carter of Coronado, Calif., and Mrs. Eugene Falifax
